Railways
- Introduced as early as 1853, Indian Railways has grown into one of the largest Railways networks in the world
- The network is spread over 80,000 km covering almost 7000 stations
- The voltages used for electric traction in India are 1.5kV DC and 25kV AC
- At stations/workshops/housing/sheds, each coach requires at least two plug and socket boxes, mini starters, contactors for switching as well as MPCBs and MCCBs for protection.
